Opening Sept. 14, the latest David Wain venture, “The Ten,” follows 10 stories relating to the 10 Commandments in the same glorified absurdism and offbeat humor found in Wain’s “Wet Hot American Summer” and the short-lived TV series “The State.” Expect to see familiar collaborators, including Paul Rudd, Michael Showalter and Janeane, Garafalo alongside a huge supporting cast in this one-week-only engagement.

“The Breach”
Sept. 5 – 30
Showings Thurs., Fri. and Sat., 8 p.m., and Sun., 3 p.m.
Southern Repertory Theater, The Shops at Canal Place, 365 Canal St.
Directed by Ryan Rilette, “The Breach” weaves together the story of two Katrina survivors as the city is left in the wake of disaster and tragedy. This is the second Southern Rep-commissioned story illustrating the effects of Katrina on New Orleans, following Loyola English professor John Biguenet’s immensely successful, award-winning “Rising Water.”
