University Police reported two vehicles stolen on campus during September.
WFF reported a panel van missing after it disappeared over the weekend of Sept. 15. Police recovered the van several hours after it was reported missing on Sept. 17. There was no damage to the vehicle or sign of forced entry. UP reports that no one forced the ignition.
A student reported her vehicle stolen from campus on Sept 25. The owner said she lost her keys in the Danna Center prior to the theft. The New Orleans Police Department recovered the car on the West Bank with moderate damage several hours after it was reported missing from North Road.
UP didn’t locate witnesses or suspects in either case and issued several safety tips after the thefts.
Report any theft to NOPD and UP immediately. Always lock cars and use theft deterrent devices such as a club, alarm or ignition-kill device if possible. Write down license plate and vehicle information numbers and provide them to police if your vehicle is stolen.
