The Phi Kappa Psi Chapter from Loyola University New Orleans who attended Creighton University during the Fall semester held a fundraising drive for two weeks raising money for the Habitat for Humanity division in New Orleans. Through the generous donations of numerous Creighton students, faculty, and outside contributors, the displaced Loyola University students raised over $2,000.00 and pledged 200 hours of fraternity community service for Habitat in the spring semester at Loyola. Habitat, which normally builds 9 houses in the New Orleans area every semester, is building 150 houses in the area this semester, and they are always in need of volunteers. In addition, 38 members of the Loyola Chapter of Phi Kappa Psi attended the American Leadership Academy held in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to discuss ways to help improve New Orleans. The Academy, founded by a Phi Psi alumnus, sponsored the Chapter’s expenses for the trip, including airfare and hotel accommodations. The Academy hosted eight prominent speakers who held seminars and lectures on such topics as ethics, leadership, and success in personal, family, community, and professional life. Thanks to all who helped make these efforts a success!
