Professor Mark Fernandez, Ph.D., received two prestigious fellowships awarding his work in history.
Fernandez was named the seventh annual Woodie Guthrie Fellow as well as being named the Louisiana Historical Association fellow for his publications in Louisiana history.
Fernandez also served as LHA president in 2010 and is a widely published author of Louisiana history.
The Woodie Guthrie Fellowship will award Fernandez with $2,500 towards lodging and travel expenses for his trip to the Woodie Guthrie Archives in May.
