The Student Government Association Appropriations Committee has finalized its budget, which is used to fund student organizations and clubs.

The committee is now eligible to allocate funds to organizations and clubs once all budget packets are received. The deadline to turn in packets in the SGA office is Sept. 17 no later than 5 p.m.

Late budget entries will not be accepted by anyone on SGA. Examples of completed packets are on SGA’s recently-updated Web site, www.loyno.edu/sga/committes.html. This site also now contains the personal profiles of all the members of the each branch in the governmental body.

A new member joined the Congress this week. Music representative Leela Joshi, music junior, was sworn in by Justice Joe Olivier, sociology junior.

Congress elected her to the position earlier this week. Joshi’s first goal for the year is to promote communication between the College of Music and the Arts & Science and Business College and hopes establish a program that will allow Loyola music majors to study abroad in Europe at affordable rates.
