On Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 1:08 a.m., a female Tulane University student was approached by an unknown black male wearing a ski mask and walking southbound on State Street. As he approached, the victim noticed that the subject had one hand under his shirt as though he may be concealing a weapon. The subject pushed the victim to the ground, taking her purse from her and fleeing southbound on State Street and then unknown.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5’7″-5’9″, heavy build, dark complexion, white ski mask, blue jeans.
TUPD is working with NOPD to increase patrols in the area.
