Brief: Atheist conference held in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – The American Atheists held its national convention April 17 to 20 in the home of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The conference, held Easter weekend, was a form of protest for the American Atheists, who believe that the Mormon culture that dominates Utah is dictating state legislature.

Scott Gordon, president of FairMormon, said in an email that detractors are to be expected.
