NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The New Orleans Hornets say a formal announcement of a change of ownership will not happen until next week at the earliest.
Team spokesman Harold Kaufman says the schedules of top team officials has been complicated by an ongoing search for a new head coach.
Chouest and Hornets founder George Shinn on Monday agreed to a deal transferring majority ownership to Chouest, who bought 25 percent of the team in 2007.
On Tuesday, Chouest accompanied general manager Jeff Bower and team president Hugh Weber to Texas for interviews of coaching candidates Avery Johnson and Dwane Casey.
Kaufman says more such trips for coaching interviews are expected in the near future.
