Next Tuesday is fast approaching and you know what that means- new DVD releases. Well, if you want advice on what you should absolutely buy, what you should rent once and what you should stay away from, check out this guide on what’s hot and what’s not.
The good: “Run, Fat Boy, run”
“Run, Fat Boy, Run” is a charming romantic comedy about an ordinary man (Simon Pegg) who is looking to regain the love of the fiance he left at the altar. Five years after the fateful event, he challenges his ex-fiance’s new lover to the London Marathon. Overweight and out of shape, he fights to get ready to compete for love in a predictable, yet funny series of laughs.
The bad: “Sex and the city”
Ladies, you may love this movie, but I am a fan of guy movies. This isn’t one of them. Simply put, if you’re a fan of the show you’re going to love this movie. If you’re not a fan, then all you’re going to get is an extension of the TV show in cinematic formatting. The film is a parade of cameos that are there to please fans of the show. You’ve already decided if you’ll like it or not.
The ugly: “Deception”
Hugh Jackman and Ewan McGregor should form an acting tour de force, right? Not even close. “Deception” disguises itself as a potentially great thriller. It has secret societies, mysterious characters and nameless love affairs, but the one thing that’s missing is a good movie. This review could go on, but it doesn’t need to. “Deception” is a terrible movie, plain and simple.
