In response to the article ‘Women get the doctor’s opinion on health issues’ on Thursday, Sept. 25:
That’s great that the dangers of Human Papillomavirus are made known on our campus.
The only problem I have with the article is that condoms are recommended as a preventative measure when abstinence is the only real prevention of HPV.
HPV can reside in cells not covered by condoms. Let’s all promote an atmosphere at Loyola of abstinence until marriage.
This will result in zero cases of HPV on our campus.
I realize that this is extremely counter-cultural, but it is certainly much safer and more rewarding than the alternative of condoms.
