Halloweenie Roast
The School of Mass Communication will hold its second annual “Halloweenie Roast,” Oct. 30 from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm, in Dixon Court. Faculty and staff from the school will serve mass communication students hot dogs, nachos, candy and other Halloween treats. There will be a pumpkin decorating contest judged by mass communication faculty members, with prizes going out to the first, second and third place winners. The organizers will give out over $500 in door prizes for the best group costume, most original costume, spookiest costume and best make-up.
HOUSE OF SHOCK
For those bold enough to leave campus for some Halloween fun, the University Programming Board is sponsoring a trip to the nationally-known “terrace of terror,” the House of Shock. Buses will depart from the Mercy parking lot at 8 p.m. Oct. 25. Tickets are $5 each.
Pumpkin Carving in the orleans room
The University Programming Board is also sponsoring a fun-filled evening in the Orleans Room with a pumpkin carving contest. UPB will give a $100 gift card to the first place winner. They will also give prizes to the winners that place in the Halloween trivia contest. The ghoulish good time begins at 5:30 p.m.
Halloween Horror Movie Night
The University Programming Board is showcasing “Amityville Horror” in CC’s Lounge in the Danna Student Center, the eve of Halloween, Oct. 30. Decorate your own cookies and cupcakes while you scream your lungs out starting at 8 p.m.
Sigma Alpha Iota Halloween Coin Drive
The Loyola chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, international music fraternity, is holding a coin drive through Oct. 31 to raise money for the fraternity. Those who participate are asked to donate coins only in the name of their favorite faculty member from the College of Music. The winning teacher will dress up in a Halloween costume Oct. 31.
