Halloween is just around the corner, and while its scary to think that the New Kids on the Block are back in action, they just launched a tour that stopped in New Orleans on Oct. 18.

The Block is back but they are no longer kids.

After 15 years the New Kids brought their reunion tour to the New Orleans Arena Saturday, Oct. 18 with their hits both old new. The mix of both made the show enjoyable for everyone even if those who weren’t hardcore fans.

Throughout the show from start to finish, the simple stage and minimal light show showcased the band and their signature dance moves for previous hits such as “(You Got It) The Right Stuff” and “Step By Step.”.

Then in the middle of their set, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Jordan Knight were allowed to showcase what little success they had with their solo careers, such as Jordan’s Michael Jackson-esque rendition of “Baby I Believe in You” complete with oversized open white shirt and a wind machine.

Over the sound of screaming, you could hear the signature sounds of “The Block” including one-time lead singer Jordan’s high-pitched falsettos. One of the best parts of the show was seeing the 30-something-year-old women dressed in full 90’s regalia, including crimped hair and vintage New Kids shirts, going crazy over a solo.

However, the show was not absent of some awkward moments, like one woman who thought it would be appropriate to throw her bra onto the stage and then Wahlberg thought it would be more appropriate to sniff it, or the crotch grab that seemed to happen every two seconds. But the biggest one came with the dance solo for their new song “Twisted,” where it seemed as if McIntyre were in pain.

All in all, the show was entertaining and great for any fan looking for that old-school New Kids on the Block nostalgia.
