Flash flood warnings remain for Southeast Louisiana

Tropical storm watches and warnings have been dropped for the Southeast Louisiana area; however, flash flood warnings remain in place for Sunday through Tuesday, according to a local statement from the National Hurricane Center.

Located 55 miles east of Pensacola at 4 p.m. Fay is expected to slow down as it crosses the Alabama-Mississippi border. Rain and winds up to 20 mph are expected through Tuesday.

According to the Loyola Web site Tropical Storm Fay does not currently pose a threat to the university, although Loyola officials will continue to monitor the storm. The university will notify students, faculty and staff by e-mail and through the Loyola Web site if changes occur.

In case of extreme emergencies the university will contact students, faculty and staff through e-mail, text messages and calls to student cell phones.
