Mary Queen of Vietnam Church in eastern New Orleans will throw a three-day Tet New Year festival beginning on Friday, Feb. 7.
The festival will celebrate Tet, the Vietnamese new year holiday.
On Friday, the opening ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. with an address by Archbishop Gregory Aymond, opening prayers and the Dragon Dance.
On Saturday and Sunday, Vietnamese singers and artists from the U.S. and Canada will perform, as well as bands Groovy Seven and The Weathered Band. The Dragon Dance will be performed at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Food will be available for sale, including pho, the sugar cane drink nuoc mia, hot dogs and nachos.
