An independent survey released yesterday by the New Orleans Crime Commission shows that the people of New Orleans are more satisfied with their police department. From Feb. 27 to 29 of this year, 600 residents — 75 randomly selected from each of the eight police districts — were phoned and asked a series of questions about the NOPD. In just about every category, the department’s numbers are up. Overall public satisfaction took the biggest leap — from 47 perent satisfied to 61 percent.
