University President and the Department of Criminal Justice present “Preventing Lethal Violence in New Orleans: A Public Symposium on Effective Community Based Solutions,” taking place Friday, Oct. 26. The daylong conversation will host speakers such as New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Ronal Serpas, Ph.D. and provost Marc Manganaro, Ph.D. The talks will focus on using alternative methods of combating violence in the city. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Roussel Performance Hall and is free and open to the public.
