What do Stockard Channing, Will Smith and Donald Sutherland have in common? They starred in “Six Degrees of Separation,” a script written by playwright John Guare.
Guare will be at Loyola to assist with the rehearsal of his play, “Women and Water,” through Monday. This play will open on Nov. 15 in Marquette Theater. He will be working with director Lane Savadore, whom he also worked with at a New York theater workshop.
Students can catch him at his public forum, “The Future of Theater and Film in America: A Forum with John Guare.” Topics such as the future of film in America, the writing process and artistic collaboration will be addressed at this event Monday at 7 p.m. in Marquette Theater.
Guare’s list of credits include three Obie awards, three Tony awards, two New York Drama Critics Circles awards and the British Olivier award, all for best new play.
