The search for a new Provost and Academic Vice President has been an ongoing process, lasting more than a year.
After the August Faculty and Staff Convocation, Bernard P. Knoth, S.J., university president, reestablished the Provost and Academic Vice President Search Committee.
As the search draws on, Loyola has hired consultants at Spencer Stuart to assist.
According to a campus email, campus interviews may be held as early as December.
An organizational meeting held on Sept. 3 produced an aggressive timeline for the search which presents the possibility of identifying an appropriate finalist before the start of the second semester because it gets Loyola ahead of other institutions who are still organizing their searches for the same position.
Knoth hopes that this timeline will enable the university to have a provost finalist before the Law School Dean search goes into its finalist phase.
The finalized position specification is available on the internal and external Loyola Web page and in a number of educational magazines.
