Wildes appoints an interim chief diversity officer

In a campus-wide email on Feb. 22, the Rev. Kevin Wildes, S.J., university president, announced that Liv Newman, sociology instructor, has been appointed interim chief diversity for the university.

Wilde said in the email that a national search would continue for someone to fill the role permanently. Until that person is found, Newman will begin to create a strategic plan for diversity and inclusiveness on campus.

Newman was selected with the help of the Affirmative Action and Diversity Committee, along with several student representatives.
