The Maroon, Loyola’s student-led media, won its eighth Pacemaker award Thursday, Oct. 28.

The Pacemaker is an award based on the content and coverage of the previous academic year hosted and given by Associated Collegiate Press.

The Maroon was selected as a finalist before being named a winner out of 19 other newspapers that brought home the award.

Members of the staff were presented with the award in Washington, D.C. at MediaFest 22, a convention hosted by the Society of Professional Journalists, Associated Collegiate Press and the College Media Association.
