This spring, the J. Edgar and Louise S. Monroe Library is celebrating 25 years since its construction.
Monroe Library opened its doors to the public on January 11, 1999. The building cost $20 million, roughly $40 million today.
The Mathes Group, a New Orleans based architecture firm, designed the 148,480 sq. ft. space that emulates the Tudor Gothic architecture of the original building.
