There was a discrepancy in the Student Government Association’s advertisements for Loup Garou, which led some students to decide against attending.
“I showed up and asked for tickets knowing they were free and they said, ‘Sorry we’re all out but you can get them at the door for full price,'” said English writing senior Gabriel Roessler.
As a result, Roessler decided against going to the annual SGA spring concert on April 21, which featured popular digital disc jockey Girl Talk, along with Loyola band Big Rock Candy Mountain and Shreveport-based band The Peekers.
According to SGA Director of Student Identity and mass communication freshman, Kate Gremillion, the university was only given a certain number of tickets to sell.
“We were allotted around 400 tickets,” Gremillion said.
Tipitina’s was given the rest of the tickets to sell at the general admission price of $15. SGA had to direct students to pay at the door when their tickets ran out.
This, however, was not stated on the event’s advertisements.
“It wouldn’t make sense that they wouldn’t have enough tickets for every senior,” Roessler said.
