Praise for Professor Woodfork
Editor:
I just learned of Debra Woodfork’s decision to leave Loyola, and I know it was a difficult choice for her to make. Debra and I worked together for Spectrum Publishing in New Orleans, and she was such a joyful colleague, and a professional one. I was thrilled to learn that she was going to work with the mass communications students at Loyola, and I know they have gained from her presence there.
One of the things that makes Loyola the truly special place that it is, is people like Debra. Loyola invests in smart, talented young professionals and helps make them great teachers. (I know; the university took a chance on me too.)
And while the university and city remain in transition and more and more people like Debra have to make those hard choices about their futures, I hope that Loyola will continue to be a place that nurtures good people and makes them even better, whether they are students or faculty.
Best of luck to Debra Woodfork as she takes those next steps in her career and to Loyola, as it faces the future.
