CBS’ “The LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG KILBORN” broadcast a special week of March Madness-themed shows from New Orleans this week.
The show’s first ever road trip, sponsored by Coca-Cola, got Kilborn back to his roots.
A native of Minnesota, Kilborn is quite familiar with the NCAA.
The supersized comedian once played for the Montana State University “Fighting Bobcats” basketball team and anchored for ESPN before his gig as host of “THE LATE LATE SHOW” began in March 1999.
Kilborn’s week of shows have led to the NCAA MEN’S FINAL FOUR, which airs Saturday, April 5 from the Louisiana Superdome.
The NCAA MEN’S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP will be broadcast Monday, April 7 on CBS.
“The LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG KILBORN” filmed in New Orleans March 31st through April 3rd at Generations Hall. Guests of the show included Lafayette
band Buckwheat Zydeco, actress/comedian Roseanne Barr; musician/actor Joey Fatone (from Nsync), actor/director Robert Duvall, who will be promoting his latest film “Assassination Tango,” actor/comedian Jamie Kennedy, Tom Green, musical guests Sum 41 and Master P and the 504 Boyz.
Though Kilborn flexed his muscles challenging audience members to three-pointers, he says, “I pulled more muscles hosting this talk show than I ever have playing basketball. …it’s called commitment,” he insists.
The last show on, April 4, will feature guests Tom Green and Master P and the 504 Boyz.
Kilborn can also be seen in Dream Works Pictures’ comedy “Old School” with “Saturday Night Live”‘s Will Ferrell & Luke Wilson.
