Salvadore A. Liberto, Vice President for Enrollment and Associate Provost, is heading a program aiming to help Loyola students affected by Hurricane Isaac from the beginning of this semester. Nearly thirty full-time undergraduate students were from the hardest-hit areas of St. Charles and Plaquemines parish, where storm surge flooded hundreds of homes and caused at least seven deaths.
These students are now facing unforeseen expenses the school did not take into account when considering need-based financial aid. Liberto asks Loyola community members to donate to the Loyola Emergency Scholarship Fund in order to help student Isaac victims and their families. Donations should be made by Oct. 26.
