Robert Thomas, mass communication professor and director of the Loyola University Center for Environmental Communication, recieved the 2011 Dux Academicus Award at the President’s Convocation Jan. 20.
The university gives the award to a professor who shows excellence in teaching and scholarship, and it is the highest honor a professor can receive for those two aspects, according to the university website. It recognizes professors who impart knowledge to their students consistent with the Jesuit values.
Colleagues and friends nominated Thomas, because he has shown dedication to the university since he joined in 1996.
