You will need: nonstick cooking spray or butter, two eggs, salt and pepper and grated cheese (Cheddar works great).
Prep/Cook Time: 5 minutes
The Market Cost: approximately $10
Break the eggs into a bowl and stir lightly. If you like, you can add milk. Just make sure not to mix it together too much.
Set the stove to medium heat and spray the pan with the cooking spray. If you’d rather use the butter, just melt a little in the pan.
Once it’s hot, pour in the eggs. As it cooks, push the edges of the egg mixture away from the sides. Once it starts to bubble a little, sprinkle the cheese over it.
Let it cook until the cheese has melted.
Sprinkle the in salt and pepper to your taste.
Then, fold it in half and cook for a minute or two.
Flip it over to let the other side get a little brown, and then you’re done!
If this recipe is too bland, try adding bacon, pieces of ham, or even chopped vegetables to change it up.
Fruit Smoothie
You will need: ice, sugar or honey, fruit, and some ice cream. Buy one of the fruit cups, a banana, and some Mango Haagen Dazs ice cream. Use half of the banana, around a fourth of the ice cream and the strawberries and pineapple pieces from the fruit cup.
Prep/Cook Time: 5 minutes
The Market Cost: approximately $10
Put all of these ingredients, plus the ice, into a blender. If you like a creamier smoothie, use more ice cream than ice.
If you want something like a slushie, use more ice.
Feel free to swap out the fruit I have used different kinds. You might also like to add fruit juice.
Blend it until the mixture is smooth, and enjoy.
The extra fruit as snack later in the day or as a side to the omelet. The rest of that ice cream will definitely not go to waste.
