If you’re hungry and looking for food on campus or at Tulane, you might notice some changes. Uptown Campus Dining, run by Sodexo, has updated and renovated several of the venues on Loyola and Tulane’s campuses.
One of the major changes is the closing of Dunbar’s with Jazzman’s Café and Bakery opening in its place on the Broadway campus in the Broadway Activities Center.
Katherine Campbell, English writing junior and student promotions coordinator for Loyola Dining Services, is excited for the changes, especially Jazzman’s Café.
“Just recently, I tried one of the banana nut muffins that they baked at training and it was delicious,” she said. Some of the other changes include WOW Café and Wingery moving to the upper level of the Lavin-Bernick Center at Tulane and being replaced by City Diner in the lower level.
City Diner is the only dining services venue that is open 24 hours a day, which according to Ronald Guillory, resident district manager for Loyola Dining Services, came about by popular demand.
“We do our best to accommodate the students’ requests; we do surveys and use the comment cards to make Dining Services the best it can be,” Guillory said.
Campbell also said she was excited for the 24 hours City Diner.
“I did have the famous pizza pan-sized pancake and, even sharing with friends, it’s tough to eat, but it is definitely delicious,” Campbell said.
