Ignatius Chapel will play host to a reading of the new Order of Mass on Sunday, April 10 at noon. The new Order of Mass is scheduled to be implemented on Nov. 27, 2011, the first Sunday of Advent.
According to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ website, the new Order of Mass was announced by Pope John Paul II in 2000. The new third edition features updated prayers for the observances of recently canonized saints as well as updated English translations of existing prayers.
The Order of Mass, contained in the Roman Missal, is the ritual text consisting of prayers and instructions for the celebration of the Mass in the Catholic Church.
