Students scurried from table to table at Loyola’s organization fair in hopes of finding a club to join.
Fifty-two of Loyola’s organizations were in attendance on Jan. 13. This is more than 60 percent of the total number of campus organizations.
“The number of organizations changes frequently, but there are roughly 80 groups on campus,” said Heather Roundtree, director of Co-Curricular Programming.
Tables were set up in such a way that students could maneuver through the crowd in search of the clubs and organizations of their choice.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the organization fair because of the wide variety of clubs offered, as well as the ability to catch a glimpse of the Greek Life popular on campus,” said Kerritt Saintal, biology pre-med freshman.
Because of the timing and the heavy traffic, Roundtree expected that about 200 students came out to see what the fair had to offer.
Organizations that were present included Greek Life, community service-centered organizations, student government, cultural organizations and specific interest organizations.
Specific interest organization the American Red Cross had a table in which they expressed their interest in gaining new members.
“This is really our first year here on campus. We just want everyone to know what we do. We have CPR training, first responder training and even hygiene programs for kids,” said Sola Gilbert, psychology pre-med senior.
