The New Orleans Hornets won 96-89 over the Miami Heat in the final game of both teams’ preseason schedules. Hornets forward Anthony Davis, the number one pick in the 2012 NBA draft, lead the Hornets and all players in the contest with 24 points and 11 rebounds on the night. Hornets guard Austin Rivers, the tenth overall pick in the 2012 draft, sprained his ankle during the game for the second time in a week, but is still expected to play against the San Antonio Spurs in Wednesday’s season opener.
