Customers eat their lunches outside Dat Dog hot dog shop on Wednesday, Aug. 31. The restaurant opened in February 2011.

If you’re searching for a new place to get a haircut, work out, eat or shop, you might find the object of your quest on Freret Street.

Freret boasts new shops, restaurants and bars, all located between Jefferson and Napoleon Avenues. With new stores and the street’s accessibility factored in, it’s no surprise to discover Freret’s popularity with Loyola students.

The Company Burger offers a classic American burger, a lamb burger and a turkey burger. Along with burgers, the menu features sides such as sweet potato fries, onion rings and pickle chips.

If you’re on the lookout for a different place to have drinks, you don’t have far to go.

Students looking for a trendy social scene may enjoy Cure.

Cure is a cocktail bar that also serves small bites to eat. Its menu includes different salads,
