Andrew Albert, philosophy sophomore, is one of 12 sophomores nationwide to receive a scholarship to attend the Institute for Responsible Citizenship’s 10th Annual Summer Rigorous Leadership Program.
The scholarship is awarded to high-achieving, African-American, male college students.
Those awarded typically attend Ivy League institutions, large public universities, historically black colleges and universities, as well as small liberal arts colleges.
This year’s attendees include men who are interested in medicine, law, education, business, public service and economics.
While at the institute, Albert and his fellow scholars will work at high-level internships and take courses in government and economics.
