Editor:
Congratulations to Loyola and to Father Byron for prohibiting the production of “The Vagina Monologues” on campus. My feeling about the play is similar to my feeling about the staging of the “Decadence Festival” in the French Quarter.
This is not to impune the merits of either the play or the festival, or to question the good intentions of either. I have neither read the play nor attended the festival.
What I find regrettable is the necessity of selecting a title, which is obviously meant to shock the sensibilities of decent people, which I am sure most students and alumni of the university are.
