After consulting faculty, students and staff members, the Rev. Kevin Wildes, S.J., university president, announced the cancellation of the Oct. 13 and 14 fall break holiday in an e-mail to the student body today.
Wildes stated that the schedule changes were necessary after the campus’s closing for Hurricane Gustav to meet the required number of class hours for the academic year. He stressed that the two-day holiday was built into the schedule to use as make-up days if necessary.
