Walter Harris, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, is resigning, effective Aug. 1. Harris will spend one year on sabbatical and then return to Loyola as a tenured professor in the College of Music and Fine Arts, wrote Harris in a campus-wide e-mail.
“I want to take this moment to share the news with you and to say what a pleasure it has been for me to serve as your chief academic officer. The persons with whom I have worked have been exceptional individuals – faculty, staff, students, administrators, alumni, and community supporters. Together, we have accomplished many wonderful things for Loyola University over the past five years, and I am proud of them all,” Harris wrote.
