Entergy Charitable Foundation awarded Loyola with $100,000 for environmental based projects.
The fund will contribute to an ongoing Gulf Coast wetlands research project led by a Biological Sciences faculty-led student group. Loyola will be able to add an expert in Environmental Geographical Imaging Systems to the faculty in spring 2012. The fund will also support subscriptions to environmental periodicals and books for the Monroe Library.
Loyola was one of more than 50 nonprofit groups selected to receive funds from the foundation.
