Shelly Wu, Bethany Richards, Allyson Conway and Michelle Brenes are all winners of the Student Government Association’s Richard Frank Grant.
The research grant is awarded to one or more students in the spring semester each academic year.
Wu, biology junior, will focus her research project on investigating a new method for determining how long a cadaver had been submerged in water. Biology senior Richards plans to research disease-carrying kissing bugs in Guatemala. Biology junior Conway will focus her research project on determining if the gene’s expression in early stages of arthritis can reveal a way to prevent it. Physics senior Brenes intends to produce an original choreographed work with the Loyola Ballet.
