Why they are running: Humiston is running because she would like to help represent her college within the university.
What they plan to do: Haley looks forward to voicing her opinions and those of her peers within the College of Fine Arts.
Previous experience: High school student government class president.
Humanities and Natural Sciences
Name: Carissa Marston
Major: Biology/Pre-health
Hometown: Luling, La.
Why they are running: Marston wants to carry over her high school experience in student government to her college experience.
What they plan to do: If elected, Marston would like to become better acquainted with issues involving the students within her college and play an active role in bringing these problems to light and solving them.
Previous experience: High school student government, drum major, president of her high school’s Spanish National Honor Society and varsity soccer member.
College of Social Sciences
Name: Kristina McDowell
Major: Political science
Hometown: Burleson, Texas
Why they are running: McDowell is running for SGA so she can give back to a school that she says has already given so much to her.
What they plan to do: If elected McDowell would like to help promote eco-friendliness at Loyola. She would like to do anything to help make Loyola a better place to be.
Previous experience: She has not had any prior experience in student government but said she is excited for the new opportunity.
Name: Dominic Clust
Major: Mass communication, advertising sequence
Hometown: New Orleans, La.
Why they are running: Clust is running for SGA because as a commuter he would like to get more involved around campus. Clust said does not want to go through his college experience without doing anything outside of the classroom.
What they plan to do: Clust said that he knows quite a few freshmen around campus that want to charter new organizations and he would like to help get these organizations up and running. Clust believes that every student should have the opportunity to get involved.
Previous experience: Clust said that he was not offered to many chances in high school, but is ready to show he can be a leader now that he has the chance.
Name: Jared Brooks
Major: Mass communication and political science
Hometown: New Orleans, La.
Why they are running: Brooks said he is a people person and believes he has a universal appeal. Brooks wants to get involved and said he can bring something new to the table.
What they plan to do: Brooks hopes to represent his college in the best way possible. He said that he is still getting to know people but he plans on laying groundwork and some things going.
Previous experience: Wing Commander of JROTC, high school student government vice president and senior class treasurer.
