Roseburg, Oregon was devastated by a mass shooting that took place at Umpqua Community College.
The shooter, Chris Harper-Mercer, killed nine people and injured over a dozen. Mercer then turned the gun onto himself and committed suicide.
The reason for the rampage is unknown, but Mercer has posted numerous times on social media about hating organized religion, and one injured victim said she was asked about her religion before she was shot.
Mercer owned 14 guns he purchased legally over the course of three years through a federally licensed arms dealer.
President Barak Obama held a press conference about this tragedy and was very clear about his urgency for stricter gun control laws in the future to try and prevent another loss of this magnitude.
