Men’s and women’s tennis both fell 0-9 to University of New Orleans on Friday, April 5. at the UNO Tennis Center.
International business freshman Tarun Surat battled for the Loyola men, but lost to Richard Campos 5-7, 4-6 at the number one singles position. International business freshman Jaron Belcher also forced a tough match from his opponent, but fell 4-6, 1-16 to UNO’s Abdelrahman Zaki at the number- two position. Biology sophomore Meghan de Baroncelli fought on the women’s side as she won three games in the first set, but ultimately fell to Marta Sans 3-6, 2-6 at the top singles spot. Biochemistry freshman Kanda Borgognoni won two games in the first set at the number two singles position, and fell 2-6, 0-6.
The Loyola tennis teams will head to Jackson, Miss. next weekend for their last three games of the season. They will open against Belhaven on Friday, April 12 at 5 p.m.
