NEW ORLEANS (AP) – The Federal Emergency Management Agency will provide $6.1 million in grant for drainage work to improve capacity of local systems in southeast Louisiana to deal with flooding.
The grants include:
– $2.5 million to Tangipahoa Parish for replacement of the existing open ditch drainage system and other work along Club Deluxe Road, an access route to North Oaks Hospital.
– $2.1 million to Plaquemines Parish for drainage improvements along Cazalard Road and Engineers Road, serving a 107-acre area of residences and businesses in the area.
– $1.5 million to St. John the Baptist Parish for sewer and storm system pump repairs at 12 sites, work needed in the wake of Hurricane Isaac.
