Graduating seems so surreal.
I’ve been in school since I was four years old and can’t imagine a life without sitting in a classroom listening to a teacher, taking exams and just being a student. I’m taking a break before graduate school and it’s a bit intimidating. I’ll have a full-time job, more responsibilities and more freedom. I won’t be able to rely on my boss extending a deadline like a professor would or to call my landlord if I’m locked out of my house like a resident assistant would. I wonder – is this what being an adult feels like?
The end is near and I feel like time has flown by too fast. I haven’t laid out in the quad enough times. I haven’t gone to enough Third Fridays. I haven’t had more than enough fun at Loyola. But I have taken enough exams. And speaking of, this issue is dedicated to our least favorite time of the semester – finals. I’ve found that taking breaks while studying can be extremely effective, so flip through and do some puzzles included in this issue. We’ve also included a survival guide, packed with tips on how you can do your best during this time of year.
Our finals issue is also our final issue of the academic year and my final issue as editor-in-chief of Wolf Magazine. We’ve passed the torch along to Shannon Donaldson, mass communication junior, and we’re more than excited to see what she will bring next year. It’s been fun, but it’s time to move on. I’ll miss my wonderful staff, our amazing adviser and that comfy chair in the office. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to us during the summer break. Let us know what you want to see in your magazine.
See you on the other side,
Precious Esie
