Brief: Rain causes invitational cancellation

This past Saturday, Sept. 21, the Loyola cross-country team was set to go to Baton Rouge for the LSU Invitational. However, the meet was cancelled, as a result of heavy rain and dangerous conditions. There are no intentions of rescheduling the meet according to Wolf Pack athletics.

After taking first place in their first meet for both the men’s and women’s races, the runners were looking to continue the strong performance they saw in the season opening meet.

While team lost the opportunity for competitive experience, this gives the injured runners time to recover from injury before competition continues.

The cross-country program is continuing training for the Watson Ford Invitational, in Clinton, Miss., on Oct. 4.
