Brief: Saints rise to top of the NFC South

The New Orleans Saints (3-0) defeated the Arizona Cardinals (1-2) 31-7 on Sunday, Sept. 22, in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, continuing their winning streak. The win maintains the Saint’s spot in the NFC South.

The Saints trailed early in the first quarter, but steadily gained traction on the field. Robert Meacham, wide receiver, Jimmy Graham, tight end, and Drew Brees, quarterback, all scored touchdowns.

With interceptions late in the forth quarter by Kenny Vaccaro, safety, and Keenan Lewis, corner back and New Orleans native, the defense is slowly moving up in the NFL rankings from their all-time low position last year.

The Saints play the Miami Dolphins (3-0) in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Monday, Sept. 30, at 7:30 p.m.
