Brief: Loyola establishes new music school

The College of Music and Fine Arts at Loyola University has put into place several structural changes. One of them was designating the music program as the School of Music. Donald Boomgaarden, Ph.D. says the title describes the current programs in music.

The program is also divided into four new parts: instrumental performance; vocal performance; theory, composition and history; music therapy and education. Music Industry studies is no longer a division in the program and is being renamed as the Department of Music Industry Studies. The college is also renaming the Department of Visual Arts as the Department of Art and Design.
