Loyola University College of Law alumna Michelle Garcia ’09, J.D. ’12 is the 2012 Student Leadership Award recipient from the National LGBT Bar Association. This is the organization’s highest honor for law students.
Garcia will receive the award at a special reception in Washington this weekend. During her first year at the College of Law, Garcia started the Lambda Law Alliance. This student organization is to foster a welcoming environment to all students regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or associational preference. Garcia has been active in the LGBT community of the greater New Orleans area as well.
