New Orleans keyboardist and songwriter Jon Cleary can now add a Grammy to his list of accolades after winning at the 58th annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 15.
Cleary’s 2015 album “GoGo Juice” took home an award for Best Regional Roots Album of the Year.
The singer-songwriter grew up in England and after learning guitar and finding a passion for New Orleans rhythm and blues, moved to the city in 1980.
Cleary recorded various records that drew on funk, soul, gospel and R&B and contributed to Grammy Award-winning albums from artists such as B.B. King, Taj Mahal and Bonnie Raitt.
Cleary can also claim to be the only active member of the New Orleans community to win a Grammy this year.
