New Orleans Police they think they’ve found one of the people responsible for the attempted carjacking that occurred on Jan. 22. They are not able to release the name of the suspect because he is a minor, Lieutenant Octavio Baldassaro said in an email sent to The Maroon.
According to Loyola Police Chief, Todd Warren, at 2 a.m. on Jan. 22., a student was leaving the Broadway campus when two men in a white Kia Soul pulled up close to the students’ car. One of the suspects approached the students’ window with what looked like a gun. The resident was able to drive away to a safe location to call Loyola University Police Department, Warren said.
The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect is not in custody, but is wanted by police, Baldassaro said.
