Sacrifice is key to losing extra pounds

    No Pains, No Gains, Seriously…

Now that everyone is back and still trying to break apart all the carbohydrates from Thanksgiving dinner, it is time to get focused in the gym to prepare for Christmas and 2010 for a brand new beginning… or just keep falling behind in your personal goals and keep putting on weight.

Everyone in this community is getting ready for finals and break but this is the time to make sacrifice if you are truly dedicated to live healthy.  Priorities should always be school but after that is up to you. The scarifies I am talking about is waking up a little earlier, coming home a later, modifying your lunch to get at least a good 30 minutes of exercise in until Christmas Eve assuming gyms will be closed on the holidays.

Make sacrifices and turn off the television and computer, stop eating junk food that you know you should not eat.  Stop being lazy and making excuses for yourself.   You can either go home and have family and friends admire your progress and physique during the next break or realize that they notice you have put on some weight and be nice and smile.  This is the truth. This is the season where even the most conditioned athletes get a little lazy with the cold weather and holiday eating.

An idea to help beginners is while you watching TV, every commercial get up and do a series of push-ups, slow squats and crunches till the show starts again.  That is a full body workout with zero equipment, at home, watching TV, during the boring parts. Honestly, this is the time where you want to lock your physique and metabolism for possibly the rest of your life.

One semester after another goes by and before you know it, you are so much heavier than when you came to school. The key is not to go through the movement of exercise, other wise you are simply flapping your arms around.  You have to be willing to push your self a little, feel the burn, get sweaty and feel your body morph into your unlocked best and perfect physique.

It is not as easy as you think to be physically fit. Please do your self a favor, tap into your potential. Do not ever compare yourself to someone better.  You need to find how your body responds best. Is it running, weights, swimming, group exercise, dance, fighting or taking the stairs?

We are all physically unique and take advantage of your best assets and work out the weak ones. The only person holding back your full potential is yourself.

Next time you find yourself mad at how you fit in your clothes, lack of energy, and weak, maybe it is time to change up priorities in your life and pay attention to your body before it is too late and too hard to get to where you want.  Do not forget, no pain, no gain. God Bless.
